It is 0410 here. Going to be online for a little bit. Have to make sure I eat breakfast this am. It is the only meal that seems to have food that you can eat. Then we have to go to the base and start all the orientation stuff. Looks like its going to be a long day. I only got about 3 1/2 hrs of sleep. The jet lag is a killer. They say it will take about 3 to 5 days for us to get adjusted. I met my supervisor last night. They are needing reefer drivers real bad, so looks like that is what I will be pulling. At least that is the request I put in. They are also talking about putting armor in the trucks we will be driving. They have to do a bit of testing first. From what I understand, they are going to put it in one truck and then shoot it up and see how it holds. I am hoping that this stuff works. I have been told that some of the locals in Iraq throw big rocks and bricks at the trucks when they cross the border into Iraq from Kuwait.
We are staying in what everyone calls the twin towers. The rooms are more like suites with 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, and a living area. I got lucky and got one of the two single bedrooms. My room also has its own shower. It is VERY small, but the water is hot and wet and that is all that matters. I am an Internet cafe that is on the grounds. It cost $4 an hour. I got 10 hrs for $20. That cuts the cost down a little. I have had e-mails and IM’s from a few of ya’ll and have really enjoyed them. It helps on the homesickness and missing everyone. Just so ya’ll know I will be busy all day today. But I will probably be back on tonight. Of course that will be tomorrow morning for ya’ll. So send those e-mails. I love hearing from everyone.
